A Wrinkled Alien

The Sphynx is a medium-sized cat. Males sphynx can weigh between 8 and 11 pounds. Female Sphynxes are smaller and they weigh between 6 and 8 pounds. This breed is long and slender and it has strong muscles like Tiger. The Sphynx has a rounded belly, which makes it look like it just finished a big meal! The chest is also like a round barrel. The cat has a long tail and reaches a point at the end. 

Saggy skin makes the Sphynx look wrinkled! All cats have wrinkles, but the Sphynx is easier to spot because it has no fur. The cat’s face looks like an alien. Its head is shaped like a wedge. Their big ears look like they belong to bats. Sphynx ears can reach 3 inches high, the Sphynx cat also has large eyes and is shaped like a lemon.

Suede Coats

Sphynx cats are not truly hairless. They have down coats. The down feels like warm suede. Some cats grow puffs of fur on their toes and tails and many do not have any whiskers. Some cats grow extra coats in winter and then they shed it in the spring and others stay bald all through the year.

Sphynx cats come in many colors. The skin gives the Sphynx its colors. The cat can be one solid color like Red or it might be two colors, such as black and white. These colors look like they are tattooed onto the cat!  They are also having several patterns to choose from. Tortoiseshell mixes patches of red and white on their white skin. Sphynx are very smart and they can learn how to do tricks. They like to clown around and they enjoy being the center of attention.
